A wee Coffee Does You Good
- wired sculpture, filled with fragrant coffee compost and bee pollinating plants. -
LOCATION NO. 4
Firstly Belfast is filled with vibrant coffee shops and these are Safe spaces that people connect from all aspects of life. This piece recognises the buzzing and essential coffee businesses in Belfast.
Secondly Often the things we consume such as coffee are
separated from the environment that they come from. This piece
also reminds us to also be aware of things we consume and giving them back to the environment. The artist will be partnering with a local coffee shop that will donate ground coffee grounds to help the plants grow.
Thirdly the plants within the coffee cup will grow around the
sculpture and mould to the environment. As the sculpture is wired it will give space for the plants to expand outside the space and continue to grow without restraint. The plants
will connect with the area around it, ivy climbing the wall and reaching beyond the wired cup.
